GUWAHATI/JALUKBARI, June 1 - The Post-Graduate Students Union and the Law College Students Union have asked the Gauhati University authorities to review the decision to expel three students of the University, a press release stated.

It may be mentioned that Milton Handique, Rezaul Karim and Writtick Saikia were expelled by the university authorities for alleged objectionable behaviour.

While Milton was permanently expelled, Rezaul and Writtick were expelled for one year each. Handique, a student of the University Law College, was suspended for allegedly threatening officials in the Vice Chancellors office. He also publicly posted derogatory remarks against the university authorities on the social media.

Rezaul and Writtick were expelled for filing an RTI against alleged corruption indulged in by the GU authorites and then threatening to lock up the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) of the University when they did not get any reply to their RTI application.
