3 from State awarded in Mumbai

GUWAHATI, Nov 22 - Three awardees from Assam, namely Dibya Jyoti Bhagawati in the category of sports, Dharam Sing Teron in art and literature, and Leena Doley in the category of governance won the 1st Northeast Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Awards-2019 in Mumbai recently, an e-mail received here stated.

All the three awardees have been working silently for decades and contributing substantially towards the community.

Bhagawati has been training young sports aspirants of Assam for decades. Similarly, Teron has been working towards promoting Karbi folk literature. On the other hand, Leena Doley has been empowering women of Assam.

Founder Rebecca Changkija Sema is credited with starting the aforementioned initiative with her home state Nagaland and then in Sikkim.

Find Studios and SEIL presented the awards in association with UFO, presenting partner Bombay Stock Exchange and supported by Mumbai Dabbawala Association, besides institute partner Mumbai University and IIM Shillong, the e-mail added.
