GUWAHATI, July 28 - The three-day 29th regional council conference and meeting of Young Men�s Christian Association (YMCA) started here on July 27.
The theme of the event is �North East India: A Light to the Nation, Opportunities and Challenges�. Delegates from all over the North East are attending the meeting.
YMCA regional chairman Lalrinmawla Ralte, MLA from Mizoram, welcomed the delegates during the inaugural session on July 28. The keynote speaker on the occasion was Dr Walter Fernandes, founder director of the North Eastern Social Research Centre.
A new executive committee of the body for 2018-20 was elected with JR Myrboh as chairman, Vanlalzuiliana as vice-chairman, MR Brooks as treasurer, Dr Lalthankimi Ralte as woman member and Stanley Lalrinfela as youth member. The conference will conclude tomorrow.
