GUWAHATI, Sept 22 � City Police has registered three cases after a group of Manipuri Sepak Takraw players beat up an electrician and even assaulted police personnel after the electrician allegedly tried to violate the modesty of the athletes by secretly clicking their photographs inside their guest house room at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.
The Sepak Takraw players also damaged a police vehicle while the men-in-uniform tried to intervene.
Senior Superintendent of Police (City) P Saloi told The Assam Tribune that the three cases have been lodged with the City Police by Board of Sports, the athletes and the police personnel who were roughed up by the Manipuri athletes during the incident.
Saloi further informed that a team of police has already started the investigation into the case and strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
