3 �Amar Dukan� outlets launched

JALUKBARI, July 26 - Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Vinod Seshan inaugurated three retail outlets �Amar Dukan� at North Guwahati on July 25. These outlets are located at Rangmahal, Bor Rangmahal and Abhaypur.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Seshan appealed to the people to take advantage of these �Amar Dukan� outlets, which will provide 23 essential items at rates below the MRP (maximum retail price). He said the government has taken the step to facilitate all sections of people and to control the price rise of essential items.

Seshan further asked the officials of the food & civil supplies department to regularly monitor the prices of items at these �Amar Dukan� outlets and to arrange meetings with the wholesalers and owners of �Amar Dukan� to find out a mechanism so that the people can buy goods at prices lower than the market.

The programme was also addressed by the Deputy Director of Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Deba Prasad Goswami. Officials of Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institution, officials of Market Association and local people attended the inaugural programme.
