2nd Covid-19 case of Dhubri came in close contact with first

DHUBRI, April 10 - After the first Covid-19 positive case of Al-Haz Jamaluddin was reported in Dhubri district, all persons who came in contact with him were tested, out of which one more tested positive on Thursday evening.

This 2nd Covid-19 positive case in the district Rahimuddin was in close contact with Al-Haz Jamaluddin, who returned after attending the Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat congregation. According to the administration, he came in close contact with the first Covid-19 positive case, and spent two nights with him.

On March 11, 35-year-old Rahimuddin went to Abhayapuri and from there he went to Guwahati via train. In Guwahati, he visited the Athgaon Kabarstan Masjid, where he met Al-Haz Jamaluddin, who had just returned after attending the Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat. Both of them spent the night at Athagaon Kabarsthan Masjid, and on April 12 after noon, they both returned to Abhayapuri, from where they both visited their respective residences in private cars. The first Covid-19 positive patient is a resident of Moatari, Chapar and the second patient is from Hakama, Bilasipara.

Thereafter, Rahimuddin led a normal life until March 14 when both of them met again at Bilasipara Masjid. Both of them along with other members of the Jamaat stayed in the said Masjid for a night and returned to their respective residences on March 15.

However, on April 7, Al-Haz Jamaluddin was declared a Covid-19 positive case, after which 44 persons who came in close contact with him were tested including his family members, relatives and neighbours. Thereafter, Rahimuddin tested positive on Thursday night.

It was also informed that after Rahimuddin tested positive, till now 11 persons close to him have been tested. Meanwhile, Rahimuddin has been sent to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati for treatment and isolation.
