TEZPUR, March 20 - In order to strengthen science, technology and innovative activities in the State, Tezpur University is going to host North East India�s biggest science fest � The 2nd Assam Science Festival � from March 23 to 25 on the university premises.

The Assam Science Festival is being organised by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, popularly known as ASTEC, under the aegis of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Assam.

This time the science fest is being organised by the council with the active support of Tezpur University (TU). �The purpose of the festival is to showcase science, technology and innovative activities of various institutions,� said Dr Sadhan Mahapatra, senior faculty member of the Department of Energy, TU, and joint convenor of the festival. Any school, institution, university in Assam can participate in this mega festival. Each exhibition stall will have dimension of 10x10 feet for the participating departments or institutions free of cost.

However, the participating departments or institutions can have their own internal decoration etc., at their own cost.
