2nd, 3rd HS (Arts) ranks make Barpeta proud

BARPETA, May 23 � Two meritorious students from two ends in the subdivision made Barpeta proud by occupying the second and third position in the HS (Arts) Examination.

While Sabbah Qamri a student of Buds Academy in Sarbhog in the far west of Barpeta district stood second in the Arts stream, Urbashi Chetiya a student of Krishnaguru Mahavidyalaya Nasatra in the extreme east of the district occupied the third position in the same stream.

Sabbah secured letter marks in all the subjects with English (86), Alternative English (88), Logic and Philosophy (90), Economics (88), Education (93) and Political Science (87) making a total of 445 which is 85% Urbashi also managed to secure letter marks in all the subjects viz English (87), Alternative English (85), Sociology (86), Economics (97), Education (93) and Political Science (82) making a total of 444 and aggregating a percentage of 88.8. She also earned the credit of securing highest marks in Economics among all the students of the State.

Jorhat Correspondent adds: Four students in the district have secured positions among the top 10 in the Higher Secondary final examination

Kamalina Hazarika and Dipankar Chetia of Pragjyotika Junior College secured fourth and sixth position respectively in the Science stream. Both of them secured letter marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and MIL.

Kamalina obtained 455 marks while Dipankar secured 450 marks. Kamalina is the daughter of Hemakanta Hazarika and Gitamoni Hazarika of Titabor Tati Bharalua Gaon. Her aim in life is to become an engineer.

Dipankar Chetia who earlier in HSLC examination secured 16th position too wants to be an engineer. He is the son of Indeswar Chetia and Babita Chetia of Lakhimpur.

Anil Agarwal a student of J B College, Jorhat secured 10th position in Commerce stream. He secured was 424 marks and is the son of Hanuman Agarwal Bimla Agarwal of Numaligarh.

Talking to this correspondent he said that he was inspired by his uncle Binod Agarwal and his class teachers of the college. He studied eight hours per day prior to the examination. He wished to be a chartered accountant in future.

In Arts stream, Uttam Baruah from Teok Junior College has secured 8th position in the HS final examination. His father was Purna Baruah (Nanda) and mother was Runu Boruah of Napamua Gaon, Teok.

Pathsala Correspondent adds: Pathsala the headquarter of Bajali sub-division once again brought glory in the field of education by bagging top nine positions in the Higher Secondary final examination 2011. A festive atmosphere prevailed in the entire Bajali area after four students bagged rank in science stream and five in arts stream.

Barnali Das a rank holder in HSLC examination 2009 secured 5th position in science stream from Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College. Barnali also secured highest mark in Chemistry (99 out 100).

Amongst the successful candidate Pranami Bashyash a student of Bajali Academy of Excellence and also a rank holder in HSLC examination 2009 secured 10th position in science stream. From Anundoram Baruah Academy two students secured position in science stream .They are Shavanam Kalita , (5th) and Jayanta Devnath, (7th).

In arts stream from Anundoram Baruah Academy altogether five students bagged rank . They are Karabi Medhi (4th), Daisy Barman (8th), Makjumi Ahmed (8th), Rituporna Kalita (10th), Chiranjit Das (10th).

Teok Correspondent: Uttam Boruah of Teok Junior College bagged 8th rank in the HS (Arts stream) securing an aggregate of 440 marks. He secured letter marks in all the subjects. Uttam, a resident of Teok Mahara village and son of Purna Boruah and Runu Boruah has brought glory to this tiny township. Several organisations of the area have congratulated him for his success.
