27 new cases in Mizoram

AIZAWL, Dec 13 - Mizoram has reported 27 new cases in the last two days, taking the State�s COVID-19 tally to 4,035.

While 11 cases were reported today, 16 cases were reported on Saturday.

Of the 11 cases detected today, seven were tested at the Zoram Medical College�s RT-PCR lab while four cases were confirmed through Rapid Antigen Tests.

Seven of the 11 new patients, including one Assam Regiment personnel, an Army man, two BSF jawans, and an 11-year-old girl, have travel history. The remaining four were locally infected.

Of the 11 new patients, five are from Aizawl district, three from Serchhip, two from Lawngtlai and one from Lunglei. Mizoram on Saturday reported 16 new COVID-19 cases, of which six each were reported from Aizawl and Lawngtlai districts, and four from Kolasib district. Eight of them have travel history.

Two patients have shown symptoms, while the rest were asymptomatic.

The number of active cases in Mizoram stands at 192 today. With a total of 3,836 people having recovered from the disease so far, Mizoram�s recovery rate has touched 95.06 percent.

The State has tested 1,64,236 samples till Saturday and 4,035 of them have turned out to be positive. The positivity rate in the State is 2.46 percent.
