TIHU, Oct 3 - The 24th IR Battalion of Charaimari emerged champions defeating Barpeta FC 3-2 via tie-breaker in the final of the Tarun Dutta and Satish Haloi Memorial Prize-money Football Championship.
The match failed to produce a result as both the teams were tied goalless during regulation time.
The final was played yesterday at the Makhibaha HS School playground. Phulendra Bayan of Barpeta FC was adjudged the best player of the final while Bhabesh Rajbanshi received the best goalkeeper of the final award. The final was formally inaugurated by Patacharkuchi MLA Pabindra Deka. The championship was organised by the Makhibaha Krira Sangha.
