203 sensitive polling stations in Gossaigaon

GUWAHATI, March 29 � Brisk preparations are on for the smooth conduct of the BTC elections to the six constituencies under Gossaigaon subdivision � 2 Guma (Unreserved), 3 Srirampur (Non-ST), 4 Jamduar (ST), 5 Saraibil (ST), 6 Kachugaon (ST) and 8 Dotma (ST).

An official release said that the entire Gossaigaon subdivision has been divided into 14 zones and 43 sectors, with zonal officers and sector officers having already physically verified the condition of the polling stations and accordingly, the transport plan to ferry polling personnel to and from the polling stations has been finalised.

Out of the total 371 polling stations, 77 have been identified as comparatively safe while 203 are sensitive and 91 are very sensitive.

Elaborate security arrangements are in place to ensure that voting takes place peacefully and as per schedule.

The subdivisional administration has constituted 20 cells, each under an officer-in-charge, to ensure smooth conduct of the polls.

Arrangements have been made for the training of polling and counting personnel engaged in the conduct of polls.

A control room with the number 03669-220502 is functioning round-the-clock.
