2,016 Barak Valley, Dima Hasao villages to be approached for help

SILCHAR, Dec 27 - As a part of the nationwide drive to reach out to the people across the country for contributions towards the construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will be on a Jan Sampark campaign from January 15 next year.

Santanu Naik, who is heading the VHP south-east zone informed the press that from the day of Makar Sankranti next year, four lakh villages across the country will be directly approached covering an estimated 11 crore Hindu families till February 27.

However, since Assembly elections are due in Assam, the campaign has been kept till January 31 in the state, Naik said.

�Out of the total villages, we have 2,974 villages in the three districts of Barak Valley and Dima Hasao and we will reach out to 2,016 villages for which a zonal committee has been formed already.�

�Around 5,000 cadres will be engaged to execute the campaign. As per the Sangh Parivar�s decision, the temple will be made by utilising financial assistance from people as per their abilities.�

�We have coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 1,000. Also, for those who wish to donate more can come forward with cheques and all donations will be sent directly to the Trust at the national level,� Naik informed.
