200 people of Assam return from flood-hit Kerala

GUWAHATI, Aug 23 - A special train carrying people of Assam from the flood-ravaged Kerala reached Guwahati around 4 pm this afternoon.

Officer-in-charge of the Government Railway Police at the Guwahati station, Utpal Kumar Das, informed that around 200 people got down from the train in the station and most of them were male passengers. The train left for Silchar later.

�The passengers were in good health condition. No medical issues were reported,� Das said.

More than 1,500 people from Assam, working in Kerala, were on the train and reached the Howrah junction last night. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority, through the Assam House, Kolkata, provided food and medical facilities to them.
