20 per cent bonus for ATCL workers

GUWAHATI, Sept 29 - Capping all speculations, the State government has announced 20 per cent bonus to workers of Assam Tea Corporation Limited (ATCL) gardens on the occasion of Durga Puja.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal directed the Industries & Commerce department to arrange payment of 20 per cent bonus to the ATCL garden workers �as their puja gift�, officials said..

ATCL has 15 tea gardens spread across the districts of Nagaon, Biswanath, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaideo and Karimganj. They employ over 16,000 workers. The gardens at present are undergoing a massive facelift in nurseries and re-plantation.
