AIZAWL, July 22 - As many as 18 jawans were among 20 fresh cases of COVID-19 detected during the last 24 hours in Mizoram, taking the State�s tally to 317.
Out of 279 samples tested at the Zoram Medical College laboratory on Tuesday, 18 came out positive, an official release stated.
It added that 16 of them were Assam Rifles men quarantined at the battalion headquarters at Zokhawsang near Aizawl, while the two others were a National Disaster Response Force staffer and a civilian.
�All of them were under quarantine and had returned from Assam and Delhi,� it said.
Meanwhile, out of 27 samples tested at Lunglei Civil Hospital�s Truenat laboratory yesterday, two � both BSF personnel aged 57 and 53 � were confirmed positive.
Of the total 317 COVID-19 cases reported so far in Mizoram, 149 are active cases and 168 are recovered cases.
