20 Bangla nationals deported

SILCHAR, May 4: Altogether 20 Bangladeshi nationals including a woman who was brought from Kokrajhar were deported back to their country on Saturday through the Sutarkandi Immigration checkpost in Karimganj, police said.

The deportation move was carried out after receiving from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the deported Bangladeshi nationals were taken out from the Central Jail here at around 8:45 am under tight security measures.

Police officers from the three districts of Barak Valley assembled to execute the deportation process.

The deported have been identified as Alo Rani Das, a resident of Cox�s Bazar in Bangladesh, Shekhar Namasudra, Iqbal Husain Talukdar, Amed Uddin, Muhammad Ishaq Ali, Mohammad Azim Uddin, Sujit Chandra Das, Samir Ahmed, Abdul Gafur, Chand Ali, Alim Uddin alias Badal Mian alias Badal Biswas, Abdul Latif, all residents of Sylhet district, Rabindra Das, Digendra Chandra Das, Shah Ali Mian, all residents of Kishoreganj district, Mohammad Ibrahim alias Ibrahim Talukdar and Faruq Mian, residents of Maulabibazar district, Saiyad All Amin of Habiganj, Rabiul Sardar of Gopalganj and Parimal Jaldas, a resident of Cox�s Bazar in Bangladesh.

The Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for entering illegally into the Indian territory without valid papers.

"Along with BSF, we will be taking the Bangladeshi nationals to the international checkpost at Sutarkandi and hand them over to Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB)," said Utpal Sarma, border Inspector.

It may be recalled that the first batch of 10 Bangladeshi detainees were deported to their country on October 13, 2016.
