GUWAHATI, July 9 - Milon Chora, a socio-cultural organisation of the people hailing originally from Baligaon, Jorhat, at a meeting held here today decided to present the educational award for 2019 to two brilliant students of the locality. Accordingly, Niharika Bhuyan of Joymoti HE School, Baligaon, and Deepjyoti Tamuly of Ananta Kandali Vidyapeeth, have been selected for the award of Rs 5,000 each.
The meeting, held under the presidentship of senior journalist DN Chakravartty, also decided to stage eminent dramatist Prafulla Bora�s Banshadhar at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on August 18. Mridul Barua, secretary of Milon Chora, explaining the purpose of the meeting said that over 300 persons hailing from Baligaon have so far enlisted themselves as members of Milon Chora.
Abani Kumar Sarma, Prasanna Borthakur, Biman Sarma, Pranab Phukan and Debojeet Saikia, while taking part in the discussion, offered suggestions for successful staging of the drama.
