2 Sikkim girls selected for India Under-17 football team camp

GANGTOK, Nov 25 - Two girls from Sikkim � Sridevi Subba and Laxmi Thatal � have been selected to join the Under-17 Indian National Team camp for training, ahead of the upcoming FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be hosted by India next year.

Subba and Thatal were selected for the national camp for the Under-17 World Cup after trials held at Kolkata recently. The duo will join the national camp and train with other selected players.

Sikkim Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Kunga Nima Lepcha, secretary Kuber Bhandari, Sports & Youth Affairs Department director Narendra Pradhan along with Subba and Thatal and their mothers and coach Aprana Lepcha called on Chief Minister PS Tamang at his office at Tashiling Secretariat. The Chief Minister congratulated them and wished them the very best. He also announced a grant of Rs 2 lakh each for the players and Rs 1 lakh for the coach.
