MANGALDAI, Oct 8 - The Darrang police have arrested two notorious poachers including one from Nagaland.
Addressing the media on Monday, Superintendent of Police Sreejith Thiraviam said that on Sunday at around 9.30 pm, a team of police headed by DSP (HQ) Amit Hojai and Officer in Charge of Shyampur PS SI Nipu Kalita conducted an operation at Rowmari Bazar area under Shyampur PS and arrested two poachers. The police recovered a .303 rifle, a magazine, 5 live rounds of ammunition, a silencer, a bottle containing dark liquid suspected to be tranquillizer and four syringes from their possession. The arrested duo have been identified as Sailendra Kemprai (40), son of Badoral Kemprai of village Dhansiripar of Dimapur and Khairul Jaman (32), son of Sasimuddin of village Langgia under Dhing PS in Nagaon disrict.
