ITANAGAR, June 19 - Security forces have apprehended two cadres of the NSCN (R) on charges of carrying out extortion activities in Changlang district.
Acting on Intelligence inputs about the presence of NSCN (R) cadres, the Changlang battalion of the Assam Rifles, along with Changlang Police, today launched an operation at Kangkho village under Yatdam circle of the district and apprehended the two cadres.
The accused have been identified as �self-styled (SS) private� Thungsam Ngemu and �SS private� Wangphik Khohoi, who were carrying out extortion in Changlang and were also involved in various other anti-national activities, said a release from the Assam Rifles.
One .22 pistol along with seven live rounds of ammunition and one 7.65 mm pistol were recovered from them.
