2 new virus deaths in Manipur

IMPHAL, Dec 18 - A 64-year-old female from lmphal East and a 70-year-old male from Tamenglong died of COVID-19 at the JNIMS and the RIMS Hospital during the last 24 hours in Manipur. The total virus deaths in the State now stand at 334.

Meanwhile, for the third day in a row, the total number of active cases in Manipur remained below the 2,000 mark. With 121 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the State�s total number of active cases is 1,835, officials said.

The newly recovered patients are from 11 COVID care facilities, including 81 under home isolation. The recovered cases in Manipur have reached 25,371.

In the last 24 hours, 80 civilians and six security personnel tested positive for COVID-19 at 15 testing facilities in the State, stated an official release. The cumulative number of positive cases is 27,540 in the State. The recovery rate now stands at 92.12 per cent.
