2 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Tripura

AGARTALA, May 29 - The number of COVID-19 positive cases continues to swell in Tripura with two more cases detected last night, taking the total tally to 244.

Taking to the social media, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted, �Altogether 1050 samples have been tested today for Covid-19 and out of which two people detected Covid positive. Both of them have returned from Maharashtra.�

The total active cases in the State stand at 74, while 167 patients have been discharged from hospitals and three patients have already migrated.

With today�s tally, altogether 42 positive cases were confirmed among those who had returned from Mumbai by a special train on May 21. Currently, a total of 9,871 persons have been placed under home quarantine and 343 persons are under facility quarantine.
