2 NEPA officials bag award

SHILLONG, July 29 - Two officials from the North East Police Academy (NEPA) have been nominated for the prestigious Union Home Minister�s medal for excellence in police training.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has instituted the award for the trainers and other support staff working in Police Training Institutions of State and Central Police Forces.

Ramesh Chandra, Assistant Director and PC Gayari, constable from NEPA have been declared as winners for indoor and outdoor category respectively. The award consists of a medal, a scroll and cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Ramesh Chandra, a resident of Uttarakhand, joined NEPA in 1984 and is presently holding the rank of Assistant Director.

PC Gayari is a resident of Bartari village in Barpeta district of Assam. He joined the academy in 1990.
