DIMAPUR, Nov 18 - Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) MLA Medo Yhokha and Independent legislator T Yangseo Sangtam today took oath as members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Speaker Sharingain Longkumer administered the oath of office to the newly-elected MLAs at his office chamber in the Legislative Assembly building in Kohima.
Both the MLAs signed the roll of members of the Assembly in the presence of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Commissioner and Secretary Dr PJ Antony.
Yhokha was elected from the Southern Angami-I Assembly constituency and Sangtam from the Pungro Assembly seat in the by-elections held on November 3. The results of the bypolls were declared on November 10. Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation Kaito Aye, Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu, Adviser (Urban Development and Municipal Affairs) Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and NDPP leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Sangtam� wife, Dr Thritingla Sangtam, and some of his supporters were also present on the occasion.
