2 more extortionists killed in Williamnagar

TURA, June 21 � Just two days after a mob killed two extortionists in Rongjeng in East Garo Hills, another mob beat to death two more extortionists near Dawagre village in Williamnagar.

The angry mob also burnt the motorcycle that was used by the duo. The mob attack took place at about 8 pm last night near the Loyola College in Williamnagar.

The two killed extortionists have been identified as Mithush Sangma of Hakashak, West Khasi Hills and Balsrang G Momin of Khalu, West Khasi Hills.

According to police, the two had gone to the village to deliver a demand note to a resident of the village. They had gone on a Pulsar bike. Upon reaching there they called for the person to come out. However, it was the wife who came out and was handed the demand note allegedly in the name of ASAK outfit for an amount of Rs 7 lakh.

After receiving the note, the wife immediately alerted neighbours who gathered and began to chase the duo. The two extortionists ran for their lives but were caught and severely thrashed. The police was later informed about the incident.
