2 more deaths in Manipur

IMPHAL, Aug 28 - Two more deaths and 118 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the past 24 hours in Manipur, State Health Department sources said today.

The total death toll in the State due to COVID-19 currently stands at 27. The COVID-19 tally in the State has risen to 5,843.

�In the last 24 hours, two persons (one Army male aged 55 years from Chandel and one female aged 40 years from Imphal East) expired at the JNIMS due to COVID-19 and other comorbid health conditions,� a press release stated today.

In the past 24 hours, 81 persons from the general population and 37 from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were confirmed positive, said D Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and spokesperson of the Manipur Health Department in the press release. The new cases are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur, Senapati, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts.
