2 more BSF personnel test COVID-19 positive

SHILLONG, June 28 - Two more Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have tested positive for COVID 19 in Meghalaya today, taking the total active cases in the State to 7.

The first positive case in the paramilitary force was detected on Saturday when a BSF personnel tested positive after returning from his home in Bihar.

�Two more Armed forces personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 in Shillong,� Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted. Officials said one of the BSF personnel who tested positive had returned from Haryana on June 26. The other personnel who tested positive is a driver, who has been transporting BSF personnel from Assam to the BSF�s Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters here.

The officials said both the personnel are asymptomatic and have been admitted at the isolation ward of BSF�s hospital. Contact tracing of the affected personnel is on. The total positive cases in the State have now risen to 50 with 42 having recovered and one dead along with the 7 active cases.
