2 mobile sets burst, 1 hurt

NALBARI, Sept 22 � A young woman Rakhi Nath (25) was injured when the mobile phone being used by her exploded at Rangaphal village near Namati in Nalbari district today.

The woman sustained injuries in her head and hands and was immediately admitted to the Swahid Mukunda Kakati Civil Hospital. The mobile phone burst when she received an unknown phone call.

Our Hatsingimari Correspondent adds: A tense situation has been prevailing at Hatsingimari and its neighbouring Kharuabandha over a incident of bursting of a mobile handset today at 11-24 am at the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Kharuabandha branch under Dhubri district. The incident took place while a phone call came from a number 7888308001 in a 1209 model Nokia handset of one Shahinur Islam.

The number appeared in the mobile in red colour even as the entire screen of the set became red and the handset started vibrating. The owner threw the handset out of the window where the battery of the set bursted in presence of the staff and other visitors in the bank.
