GUWAHATI, Aug 8 - The Special Inspection Team formed by the Kamrup Metro district administration today inspected three laboratories in Panbazar locality and sealed two of them as they were found to be operating without necessary licence.
District administration sources said the team, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner F Ahmed, inspected the New Assam X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory, the Gitanjali X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory and the Apollo X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory.
The team found that the New Assam X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory and the Gitanjali X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory did not possess necessary documents and were operating without licence. Both the places were immediately closed down, said an official.
He added, The Apollo X-Ray and Clinical Laboratory owners have been asked to submit the necessary documents, including a copy of the licence, by Monday. In case of failure to abide by the directive, or if found to be operating without permission, action will be taken against it.
Officials said similar drives will be carried out in other private hospitals and health centres in the city during coming days.
