SHILLONG, May 30 � Two armed cadre of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) were arrested in Meghalaya�s Ri-Bhoi district along with arms and ammunition, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off that the militants are present in the district, police swung into action and arrested the two cadres from two separate locations, police said.
A country-made pistol, ammunition, firecrackers and ball bearings meant to be used as pellets for their shotgun and a demand note were seized from their possession, he said. A local court in the district today remanded them to 10 days police custody. � PTI
