JORHAT, May 18 � Jorhat police arrested two persons on Sunday while they were trying to extort a prominent businessman here in the name of the banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent).
The youths have been identified as Dimbeswar Dutta of the Braraguri area and Amrit Bora of Fesual Gohaingaon of the district.
Police said that since the past few days the youths, who claimed to be members of the ULFA(I), had been making extortion demands over the telephone to a wealthy businessman of Jorhat.
