2 girls from Jorhat dist shine in Civil Services Exam

JORHAT, Aug 4 - Two girls from Jorhat district � Sizal Agarwal and Nivedita Dutta � brought laurels to the district by securing 112th and 697th ranks respectively in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2019.

Sizal Agarwal, a resident of Chamber Road here and daughter of Mamta and Binod Agarwal is the second among three siblings.

Sizal is perhaps the only girl from the Marwari community from Assam to have passed UPSC Civil Services Examination from Assam.

Her brother Shagun Agarwal said that they have a wholesale clothing store. Sizal passed ICSE from Carmel School Jorhat, CBSE�s HSSLC from Assam Rifles Nodal School Jorhat, B Com from Lady Shriram College, Delhi and then post graduation from Delhi School of Economics.

Sizal told newspersons today that her first preference would be IAS, then IPS and then IRS/IT.

Nivedita Dutta, a single child of parents Juna and Krishnakanta Dutta hails from Bhogamukh under Teok revenue circle and resides in Pune, Maharashtra.

As per information collected from a family source of Nivedita, her father worked in the Army Medical Corps. She passed HSLC from a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandigarh, then HSSLC from Army Public School in Pune. She graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Army Institute of Technology.

She then studied Political Science from Pune University with the sole aim of appearing and clearing the UPSC exam.
