GANGTOK, Nov 2 - Two persons died and three were critically injured after they were hit by a speeding utility vehicle on Sunday morning at Ranipool Bazaar in east Sikkim.
According to police, driver Jiten Singh (39) of Siliguri in West Bengal was in an inebriated state and was subsequently arrested. The incident took place at around 6 am.
�The utility vehicle first hit three people at 6th Mile and again at Ranipool and fled. Jiten was arrested at Marchak,� police said. Those injured are presently in hospital.
