2 AMCH doctors win IMA award

DIBRUGARH, Dec 18 - Two doctors from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), have been conferred with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) national president�s appreciation award for Covid Care and Control 2019-20.

The recipient doctors are Dr Sanjeeb Kakoti, Principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) and Dr Gayatri Gogoi from the Department of Pathology, AMCH.

Dr Sanjeeb Kakoti has been awarded for his extensive and momentous work in Covid Care and Control at AMCH. Dr Gayatri Gogoi has been awarded for conceptualizing and implementation of Covid Sentinel Project in partnership with the Assam Police, which helped in real time data generation for appropriate intervention and monitoring of home quarantine and isolated Covid-19 affected people in the State.

The awards were given away through virtual mode. Altogether six doctors from the State have received the same award. Dr Sanjeeb Kakoti and Dr Gayatri Gogoi are also attached to the IMA, Dibrugarh Branch, officials from the IMA informed.
