2 AISF men injured in Pengeree incident

GUWAHATI, Nov 23 - Unknown to others, two personnel of the Assam Industrial Security Force (AISF) received bullet injuries in the November 16 firing incident at the Pengeree tea estate in Tinsukia district, stated a press release here today.

PN Nath, Senior Staff Officer (HG-G), informed through the release that he had personally met Constable Nripen Sing, who received three bullet injuries in arms, and Constable Khairul Islam Laskar, who received a bullet also in the arm. They are now recovering from injuries at the Assam Medical College Hospital, Dibrugarh.

It may be mentioned here that unidentified militants fired at the AISF personnel, who were escorting a vehicle in which the manager of the Pengeree TE was travelling to bring money for the tea workers from the Doom Dooma Police Station on November 16.
