DERGAON, June 3 - With 18 new cases, the total number of positive cases has increased to 197 in Golaghat district on Wednesday.
Among the 18 new cases, three were admitted at COVID Hospital Golaghat while other 15 were admitted at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
All the new cases are persons who had returned from outside Assam by Shramik Train.
Among the total 197 cases, 33 patients including 5 on Wednesday have been released so far. Therefore, there are a total of 164 active positive cases in the district as on Wednesday.
DIPRO in-charge Papu Gogoi said that 113 Covid patients were undergoing treatment at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital (SKKCH) Golaghat against 120 beds in total and 51 such patients were under treatment Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH).
He also said that till date a total of 23 patients were discharged from SKKCH COVID hospital Golaghat and 10 patients were discharged from JMCH.
Similarly a total of 904 returnees from outside the State are in 38 Institutional Quarantine centres in the district.
In Dergaon, three institutional quarantine centres have been set up at Marwary Dharamshala, Nahardonga Model Hospital and Koilasah Bibah Bhavan so far.
Dergaon Circle officer Utpal Kr Deka said that all the necessary arrangements have been made in the centres.
