BARPETA, April 1 - As many as eight persons out of 18 from Barpeta district have been traced and hospitalised and kept in isolation wards of Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.
Three of them hail from Bahari area under Tarabari Police Station while two hail from Kalgachia area. Other three belong to Kaljhar, Fulbari and Barpeta areas.
The samples from each of them have been collected, but results are yet to be published.
Meanwhile, 10 persons of the district who had reportedly joined the religious congregation have not returned till now. According to official sources, nine of them are still in Delhi, while one is in Bihar.
The district administration has appealed to the people who have returned from outside the State or from a foreign country but have not conducted the COVID-19 test to report to a nearby hospital or police station. People of the district are also requested to report about such persons to the authorities either physically or over phone, earmarked especially for the assistance of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of a woman participant, who belongs to Sarthebari area, has not yet been traced triggering a panic situation among the people.
