BAIHATA CHARIALI, Nov 12 - The 178th edition of Pub Kacharimahal Sri Sri Kurma Madhab Barowari Raas Mahotsav at Kolmoni here will begin from November 13 with a five-day programme.
On November 13, the Raas Mahotsav will begin with the hoisting of the Mahotsav flag by Satyabrat Kalita, chief president of the Raas Mahotsav and MLA of Kamalpur LAC at 9 am. At 9:30 am, Pratap Deka, president of Haradutta-Biradutta Sahitya Sabha will perform smriti tarpan. At 3:30 pm, Harmohan Kumar Deka, headmaster of Padum Kunwari Girls� High School will open the entrance of the Mahotsav and at 5 pm, Satish Agarwal will take part in the installation of idols programme. At 6 pm, Bhabesh Kalita, MLA of Rangiya LAC will light the ceremonial lamp while Aswini Choudhury, mouzadar of Pub-Kacharimahal mouza will inaugurate the entrance of the exhibition.
On November 14, Gita Sakti Deka, member of Pub-Kacharimahal Zila Parishad and Mousumi Boro Kalita and Anjali Boro, president and vice-president of Bihdia-Jajikona Anchalik Panchayat will inaugurate religious and cultural processions respectively at 9 am. At 6 pm, girls� nagara naam and at 9 pm inauguration of the stage for drama will be held while at 9:15 pm, Deva Raj Natya Parishad will stage their drama.
On November 15 at 10 am, there will be Bhagawat Path, at 12 noon ayoti naam, at 6 pm aroti, at 7 pm stage for competition inauguration and at 7:30 pm, modern song competition will be held.
On November 16 at 10 am, Bhagawat Path will be held while at 12 noon ayoti naam, at 2 pm drawing, extempore speech, song and dance and go as you like contests will be held among the children. At 6 pm, there will be inauguration of a book and at 8 pm, modern dance contest will be held.
On November 17 at 11 am, ayoti naam and at 6 pm aroti will be held, at 7 pm Atul Bora, State Agriculture Minister and president of AGP, will inaugurate the cultural stage while at 9 pm, singers Dimpi Sonowal and Nekib will perform. Jitu Nath, secretary of the Raas Mahotsav has appealed to the public to extend their cooperation to make the Raas Mahotsav a success.
