1,75,211 Sadiya voters to exercise franchise

DOOMDOOMA, March 26 - The administration of Sadiya sub-division in Tinsukia district has completed all arrangements to conduct a free and fair Lok Sabha poll in the district on April 11.

The SDO (Civil) of Sadiya sub-division and the Election Officer of Sadiya Election District Biswajit Phukan informed this Correspondent that a total number of 1,75,211 voters would exercise their franchise to elect their representative for No. 14 Lakhimpur HPC on April 11.

Out of the total voters, 89,686 are male voters while the remaining 85,523 voters are female. Among the total voters, there are 32 �D� voters and 376 service voters.

There are 227 polling stations in the Sadiya Election District which have been divided into 14 zones and 41 sectors. Out of the total polling stations, 45 stations have been identified as sensitive, 59 as very sensitive and the remaining 123 polling stations have been identified as comparatively safe polling stations.

Among the total polling stations, 46 are under Doomdooma Police Station, 39 are under Kakopothar Police Station, 36 are under Dholla Police Station and the remaining 106 polling stations are under Sadiya and Chengchup Police Station.

A total number of 1,098 personnel have been engaged in the poll process. The strong room and the counting venue have been set up at the office premises of the SDO (Civil), informed the District Election Officer.
