DERGAON, July 21 - After the detection of 17 new positive cases and discharge of 23 patients, the number of active cases is 233 in Golaghat district as on Tuesday.
All the 17 new cases were detected through Rapid Antigen Test.
With this the cumulative positive cases in the district has increased to 969, out of which 736 have been discharged and one has died so because of Covid and another died infected with Covid but with co-morbidities.
DIPRO in-charge Papu Gogoi said that among the new cases, 5 were found among jail inmates, 5 from contact tracing while 7 from other sources.
He also said that a total of 213 inmates are in 16 quarantine centres where 24 were newly admitted and 24 were discharged and 4 were transferred to other district.
