MANGALDAI, June 5 - Darrang district has recorded a maximum of 17 new COVID-19 positive cases taking the overall tally to 38. Among the 13 cases detected on Friday, 11 are from Kharupetia College quarantine centre while the other two are from quarantine centre at the hostel of JNV, Darrang.
Earlier as per reports of late Thursday night, another four persons � two from Kharupetia and one each from Mangaldai and Sipajhar � have tested positive, said Health department sources. Out of these total of 17 cases, 12 belong to areas under Dalgaon PS, two from Sipajhar PS and remaining three, one each from Mangaldai, Kharupetia and Dhula PS area respectively.
They all are returnees from outside the State and entered the district after May 26 last. Now all have been admitted to Mangaldai Civil Hospital.
