KOKRAJHAR, Aug 3 - The Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar expelled 16 students from the institute for one semester with immediate effect yesterday and also directed them to vacate their hostels by August 3 on charges of ragging, sources informed today.
On the basis of information received from different sources and subsequent verification of facts by the members of the Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad, the students were found to be involved in ragging on the late evening of August 1 last at Jwhwlao Dwimalu Boys� Hostel in CIT, Kokrajhar, sources said.
