JORABAT, Jan 18 - Acting on a tip-off, Sonapur police seized 16 coal-laden trucks and dumpers in Nartap village near Sonapur last night.
The trucks, laden with coal far above the permissible weight and without valid documents, were on their way to Guwahati from Byrnihat along the Byrnihat-Barkhat road to escape the weigh bridge at 13th Mile on NH-6.
The seized trucks were later handed over to the transport department.
