15 policemen held in Nalbari for extortion

NALBARI, June 24 � Nalbari police today arrested 15 police personnel on charge of extorting money from trucks plying on National Highway-31 last night. The police also recovered Rs 22,500 from the possession of the arrested policemen.

The arrested police personnel are assistant sub-inspector Pranab Kakati, constable Satya Barman, Dwijen Das, Abul Hussain, Bishnu Boro,

Chandra Kanta Boro, Akbar Ali, Ranjit Boro, Abdul Latif and six constable from the Assam Police battalion. They will be produce at the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
