143 new cases in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 27 - Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday recorded the highest single-day spike of 143 cases, taking the State�s total COVID-19 caseload to 3,555.

The previous highest increase in a day was 133 on August 18.

The total number recoveries in the State went up to 2,563 with the discharge of 55 patients yesterday.

According to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here last evening, there were 987 active cases in the State.

So far, five persons have lost their lives to the virus in Arunachal Pradesh.

Of the 143 new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex accounts for 31 infections, followed by East Siang with 24 and East Kameng with 16. West Kameng registered 10 cases, Tirap nine, Upper Siang eight, and Upper Subansiri, Pakke-Kessang, Lower Subansiri and Papum Pare registered eight cases each. Four cases were detected in Lower Dibang Valley, three each in West Siang and Changlang, two in Kra-Daadi, and one each in Lower Siang, Lohit, Leparada, Namsai and Anjaw.

Among the new cases, 133 are asymptomatic and 10 symptomatic, the bulletin added.

Fifteen of the recovered patients are from Itanagar Capital Complex, 12 from Upper Subansiri, five each from Tirap and Lower Dibang Valley, four each from Tawang and West Kameng, three from Changlang, two each from Namsai, Anjaw and East Kameng, and one from East Siang.
