14 kept under home isolation in Kamrup (M)

GUWAHATI, March 19 - The District Health Department of Kamrup (Metro) on Thursday brought altogether six persons under home isolation as a precautionary measure to check the coronavirus outbreak, though till today no such instances have been reported in the district.

According to sources in the district administration, at present altogether 14 persons are kept under home isolation but no person is kept under mass quarantine facility in Guwahati. Again, in the hospitals here, five persons were admitted in the isolation wards.

In Guwahati, altogether seven corona surveillance teams are working. Additionally, the district administration has identified altogether 34 isolation beds in both government and private hospitals along with 310 quarantine beds.

In the district control room, the administration has received altogether 609 calls till today.

Meanwhile, though the State government has directed every district administration to take all kinds of measures to create mass awareness about the disease, in Guwahati, no gram sabha and coordination committee meetings have yet been organised.
