DIBRUGARH, July 12 - In one of the biggest crackdowns, the sleuths from the Excise department busted 14 illicit liquor manufacturing units in Bongalgaon and Hiloidhari villages just at the outskirts of the town today and picked up at least 12 traders involved in the illegal business.
The Excise squad seized 2750 litres of fermented wash, 175 litres of illegally prepared liquor and 21 distilling apparatus from the illegal manufacturing units. The Excise personnel also dismantled 14 illicit liquor manufacturing unit.
Abdul Hussain, Inspector of Excise, Dibrugarh Sadar said that the 14 cases were detected during their raids in the area today. �Two illegal liquor manufacturers managed to escape but we arrested 12 of them,� he said.
