MANGALDAI, April 6 - Kharupetia Police finally has registered a suo motu a case (no. 119/2020) u/s 120 (B) /270/271/308 IPC) against 14 persons in connection with finding out nine Mumbaikars from a hideout in Pub Komarpara village in Kharupetia on Sunday afternoon.
On the basis of the FIR lodged by Circle Inspector, Kharupetia Dinabondhu Bhuyan, the case has been registered against all the nine Mumbaikars along with five office bearers of Darrang district unit of Tablighi Jamaat. In the FIR, the accused have been charged with a deep-rooted conspiracy of spreading the deadly coronavirus by violating the rules of the nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, all the nine Mumbaikars have been shifted to Guwahati for quarantine from Kharupetia PHC on Monday evening, Health department sources said.
The office bearers of local Tablighi Jamaat against whom charges have been made are � Najiruddin Ahmed, Hussain Ali, Mazaharul @Ilias Indian, Tufajjul Ali (all from Mangaldai) and Poirul Karim of Kharupetia.
