13 girls rescued from Bihar

MORIGAON, Sept 16 - Assam Police rescued 13 girls of Morigaon district from Motihari in East Champaran district of Bihar yesterday.

Giving details of the operation, Morigaon SP Swapnanil Deka said that following the rescue of four minor girls from the Avadh Assam express at the Kamakhya Railway Station on September 11, police became aware that the girls were being trafficked to Bihar. The girls were promised jobs in a dance academy at Motihari.

The police managed to arrest Bokuli Bordoloi who was involved in trafficking girls to Bihar. Based on the confessional statement of Bordoloi, Morigaon police with the help of Bihar police conducted a raid in Motihari and managed to rescue the girls. Two culprits involved in the racket � Dipak Kumar and Anil Kumar were also arrested.
