13 Dibrugarh PS connected with video conference facility

DIBRUGARH, Aug 19 - In a significant development, a webcam and video conference facility connecting all 13 police stations of the district, was inaugurated today at the office of the Superintendent of Police here.

The facility was inaugurated by Porittran Sarma of Schlumberger in presence of Superintendent of Police Sreeejith T and other police officers. Superintendent of Police Sreejith T thanked Porittran Sarma of Schlumberger for sponsoring all the 13 computers, webcams and speakers installed at the police stations in memory of his father.

The inaugural function was also attended by Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta and officers in charge of all 13 police stations through the video conferencing facility.

Superintendent of Police Sreejith T told newsmen after the inauguration that the newly set up facility will connect the office of the Superintendent of Police with all the 13 police stations. The facility will facilitate digital communication and enable instant sharing of documents through the connected network. It will also aid in holding video conferences between the Officers in Charge of police stations. The technology will enhance work efficiency by saving time, energy and resources. It will also minimize contact to prevent spread of Covid, the SP stated.
